Student guide
You don't need an account. Everything happens on your phone from a 4-digit code your instructor puts on screen.
Get the class code
Your instructor shows a 4-digit code on the projected screen. You need it to join, and it only works while the class is running.
Join the class
Open the Join a class page, type the code, and press Continue. If the code is wrong you'll be told right away.
Then choose how your answers are labelled:
- Enter your name — it appears next to each answer you post.
- Or tick Join anonymously to show up as User1, User2, and so on, in the order people joined.
Answer the live question
You only ever see the one question your instructor currently has on screen.
- Open-ended — type your answer and press Send answer. You can send more than one thought.
- Multiple choice — pick one option (round buttons) or several (square boxes), then press Send answer. You can change your choice and send again while the question is still live.
- Whiteboard — draw on a canvas everyone in the class shares. See the next step.
Draw on a shared whiteboard
When your instructor puts a whiteboard on screen, everyone draws on the same canvas and each stroke appears for the whole class as soon as you lift your finger.
- Pen — draw with your finger, mouse or stylus. Pick a colour and a thickness from the toolbar.
- Text — tap where you want the words, type, and press Enter. Esc cancels.
- Eraser — drag over a stroke to remove it. You can only erase what you drew; other people's work is safe from you, and yours from them.
- Undo — steps back through your own actions in order. It takes back a stroke you just drew, and it also brings back something you just erased, in its original place on the board.
Only your instructor can clear the whole board.
Watch the room
Responses appear live as everyone answers. Use the tabs to switch views — an answers feed or a word cloud for open questions, a bar or pie chart for multiple choice.
Follow along
The instructor decides which question is live, so your screen moves on its own when they advance. If you see “Waiting for your instructor to start a question”, nothing is live yet — sit tight. If an answer doesn't go through, the question has probably just changed; check the prompt at the top and try again.
